Military Benefits

Subject to Federal Law, Oklahoma Law has specific provisions that allow for the division of military disposable retired/retainer pay based upon, among other things, the length of the service member’s military service, the length of marriage during the service member’s military service, the service member’s rank and pay grade. In the case of a military reserve retirement, the reserve retirement points are an additional factor that is considered. The laws that govern the award of military retirement benefits are very complicated. If a military retirement is involved, an attorney should be utilized.
